Ser Jon Roxton, called Bold Jon Roxton, was a knight of House Roxton of the Reach, a man of black temper who bore the dark Valyrian steel longsword Orphan-Maker and fought for King Aegon II Targaryen and the greens through the civil war the singers named the Dance of the Dragons. At the Battle on the Honeywine he dealt Lord Owen Costayne his mortal wound, and after Lord Ormund Hightower fell in the first fighting at Tumbleton he was among those who quarreled over command of the host, claiming the Lady Sharis Footly as a prize of war and cutting down Lord Footly when he dared object. Restless for the march on King's Landing, he joined the conspiracy of the Caltrops, who plotted the deaths of the upjumped dragonriders Ulf White and Hugh Hammer. During the Second Battle of Tumbleton in 130 AC he made good on that pact, splitting Hugh the Hammer from groin to throat, yet when a dozen of Hammer's men set upon him the legend tells that Bold Jon slipped upon his victim's spilled entrails and was cut down where he fell.
