Orphan-Maker was the Valyrian-steel longsword of House Roxton, borne during the Dance of the Dragons by Lord Jon Roxton, called Bold Jon. He wielded it for the blacks at the First Battle of Tumbleton, cutting down foes with the famous blade until the field turned against him.
Bold Jon met an inglorious end: challenged in the aftermath of the battle, he slipped in a puddle of mud and was run through where he lay, the great sword useless beneath him. Orphan-Maker passed afterward into the keeping of House Peake, who held it in the years that followed.
