Horton Redfort

Horton Redfort, Lord of Redfort and head of his house, is a short old man with a well-kept beard, grey hair, and mild eyes. He wed three times and fathered four sons—Ser Jasper, Ser Creighton, Ser Jon, and Mychel. Domeric Bolton squired three years for him before returning to the Dreadfort, and Lord Horton judged the lad to have the makings of a tourney champion. Ser Kevan Lannister reckoned the widowed Lady Lysa Arryn might take Horton as a suitor, accounting him a dangerous and proud man in his own way. In A Feast for Crows Horton stood among the Lords Declarant who gathered at Runestone with Lord Yohn Royce to depose Petyr Baelish as Lord Protector of the Vale; too old to make the ascent on foot, he rode the basket to the Eyrie, urged Petyr to depart for the riverlands, and gently cautioned Ser Lyn Corbray when the knight threatened Ser Lothor Brune with Lady Forlorn. Littlefinger won the lords a year's grace, privately telling Sansa Stark that the elderly Horton might be dead within it. Horton compelled his newly-knighted youngest son Mychel to wed Ysilla Royce, daughter of Bronze Yohn.
