Mychel Redfort

Mychel Redfort, the youngest son of Lord Horton Redfort, is reckoned one of the best young swordsmen in the Vale and a gallant one. He served as squire to Ser Lyn Corbray and took the maidenhead of Mya Stone, the bastard girl who keeps the mules on the road to the Eyrie. In A Game of Thrones Mya tells Lady Catelyn Stark that she will wed Mychel once he is knighted, though Catelyn doubts a Redfort would ever marry a bastard. So it proved: when Mychel was newly anointed a knight, his father gave him no choice and married him to Ysilla Royce, a daughter of Bronze Yohn Royce. In the The Winds of Winter sample chapters Mychel arrives at the Gates of the Moon—one of three wedded competitors—to contend in Lord Robert Arryn's tourney for a place among the Brotherhood of Winged Knights, and Alayne Stone counts him a favorite to win; his presence brings sorrow to his former lover Mya.
