Jeyne Lothston, born in 164 AC, was the daughter of Ser Lucas Lothston and Falena Stokeworth, though it was whispered that her true father was King Aegon IV Targaryen, who had taken her mother as a mistress before her birth. In 178 AC, when she was fourteen, Falena brought her to court, and the king made her his eighth mistress; her father was raised to Hand of the King in the same season. The favor was brief. Aegon IV infected Jeyne with the pox, and thereafter House Lothston was dismissed from court. It was rumored, though never proven, that the king had enjoyed mother and daughter together.
