Ser Corwyn Corbray, born in 100 AC, was the second son of the Lord of Heart's Home and younger brother to Lord Leowyn Corbray; for his renown as a warrior his father bestowed upon him the ancestral Valyrian steel sword Lady Forlorn. During the Dance of the Dragons he and Leowyn led the Vale host of ten thousand from Gulltown for the blacks, Corwyn landing at Maidenpool. A widower whose first wife had given him two daughters, he won the favor of Princess Rhaena Targaryen, and the regents — eager to wed her before her twin Baela could produce an heir — married them within a fortnight in 132 AC; Rhaena miscarried his child in 133 AC. Named a regent for Aegon III in 134 AC after the death of Lord Manfryd Mooton, he was dispatched to settle the Vale's disputed succession. He ruled for Lady Jeyne Arryn's heir Ser Joffrey Arryn, but at Runestone in 135 AC, while Lord Gunthor Royce rode out to confront him, a crossbowman on the battlements loosed the quarrel that killed him.
