House Mallister of Seagard guards the western coast of the Riverlands from the longships of the Iron Islands. Their seat was built on the orders of King Arrec of the Sunset Kingdom three centuries after the Andal Invasion, set on a high bluff overlooking Ironman's Bay, and its great Booming Tower has hung with the same iron bell for so long that the sound of it across the water is known to every ironborn raider who ever lived to tell about it.
Lord Jason Mallister has held Seagard since he was a young man, has thrown back more ironborn raids than he can comfortably count, and slew Rodrik Greyjoy with his own hand beneath the walls of his own castle during the Greyjoy Rebellion. His son Patrek is squire to a cousin at Riverrun.
