Jason Mallister

Lord Jason Mallister has held Seagard since about 278 AC and is head of House Mallister. A renowned tourney knight, he was unhorsed by Ser Barristan Selmy at Lord Steffon's tourney at Storm's End, and gave lavish gifts at the Riverrun weddings of the Tully sisters. At the Battle of the Trident during Robert's Rebellion he slew three of Rhaegar's bannermen. During Greyjoy's Rebellion in 289 AC he killed Rodrik Greyjoy beneath the walls of Seagard, throwing the reavers back into the sea, and was later defeated by Lord Jorah Mormont at the tourney at Lannisport. When Robb Stark marched south, Jason joined his host, captured Lord Gawen Westerling in the Whispering Wood, and commanded the defense of four fords along the Red Fork during the Battle of the Fords. At Hag's Mire he brought Robb the captain of the Myraham, bearing word of Balon Greyjoy's death. After the Red Wedding, Black Walder Frey threatened to hang his captive son Patrek unless Seagard yielded; Jason bent the knee and was thereafter held prisoner within his own castle.
