William Mooton

William Mooton is the Lord of Maidenpool and head of House Mooton during the War of the Five Kings, a fleshy, pale, soft-looking man whom Lord Randyll Tarly judged to have "the courage of a worm." He is the brother of the late Ser Myles Mooton. In A Clash of Kings, rumor holds that William set out with his sons and his hounds to hunt a great she-wolf troubling the lands about the Gods Eye, only to be driven off and lose all his dogs. Declaring nominally for Robb Stark, he kept largely behind his walls while Maidenpool burned. After the battle at Duskendale, Randyll Tarly took the town and confined William to a tower cell until King Tommen I Baratheon's pardon restored him to the king's peace. To secure his house he betrothed his eldest daughter and heir, Eleanor, to Randyll's son and heir Dickon Tarly, the two children wedding after a short betrothal.
