Halleck Hoare

Second King of the Isles and the Rivers, son of Harwyn Hardhand. Though he sacrificed to the Drowned God and always kept three priests at his side, Maester Yandel judged there was more of the Trident than the salt sea in him, and he visited the Iron Islands only three times in his reign, for a total of two years. Warlike but less fortunate than his father, he was beaten in wars against the Kingdom of the Rock and the Kingdom of the Storm and failed three times against the Bloody Gate, the bulwark of the Kings of Mountain and Vale, though he did extend his rule east to Duskendale and Rosby. When not on campaign he ruled from a modest tower house at Fairmarket. His son Harren would raise a far grander seat at Harrenhal; another son, the unnamed Lord Commander Hoare, took the black. His reign is recorded in The World of Ice & Fire and Fire & Blood.
