Gulian Swann

Gulian Swann, Lord of Stonehelm and head of his house, was born before 259 AC and was well past forty by the War of the Five Kings, his fighting days behind him. He received Ser Davos Seaworth and broke bread with him, yet refused to answer Stannis Baratheon's demands, instead pleading illness and keeping to his castle while the realm burned. His two sons took opposing sides: his eldest, Ser Donnel, served first Renly and then Stannis, while his second son, Ser Balon, was raised to King Joffrey's Kingsguard. In the appendix to A Dance with Dragons a Clifford Swann is named Lord of Stonehelm in his stead, whether by error or succession remaining unclear.
