Balon Swann

Ser Balon Swann, second son of Lord Gulian Swann, was born at Stonehelm — burly across the chest, courtly and valiant, good with a lance, better with a morningstar, and exceptional with a bow. He shone in the Hand's tourney, defeating Alyn before falling to Ser Gregor Clegane, and reached the final three of the archery contest behind the commoner Anguy. After defending the royal party in the riot of King's Landing, he was named to the Kingsguard in place of the slain Ser Preston Greenfield and fought beside Tyrion Lannister at the Battle of the Blackwater. He stood first witness at Tyrion's trial for the death of King Joffrey, and was later sent by Queen Cersei to Dorne bearing Ser Gregor Clegane's head, where he joined Obara Sand in the hunt for Ser Gerold Dayne, called Darkstar.
