Born into House Manderly of White Harbor in or before 257 AC, a cousin of Lord Wyman Manderly, gentle and modest and little courted in her youth. She wed Lord Halys Hornwood and became Lady of the Hornwood, bearing him a son and heir, Daryn. The War of the Five Kings took both from her: Lord Halys fell in the battle on the Green Fork, and Daryn was cut down by Ser Jaime Lannister in the Whispering Wood, leaving her a childless widow whose rich lands at once drew suitors and rival claimants among Houses Flint, Karstark, Tallhart, Glover, and Bolton.

At the Winterfell harvest feast the lords pressed their suits upon her, but on the road home she was seized by Ramsay Snow and forced to wed him that same night before a septon and a heart tree. Ramsay then locked her in a tower upon Hornwood land and starved her; when Ser Rodrik Cassel broke down the door he found her dead in 299 AC, blood about her mouth and her own fingers chewed away. Her murder set Bolton and Manderly to fighting over the Hornwood, and the men of the north did not forget how Ramsay had used their lady.
