Ser Cletus Yronwood was a knight of House Yronwood, the eldest son and heir of Lord Anders Yronwood. Despite a lazy eye he was reckoned handsome, randy, and ever laughing, and counted among the closest friends of Prince Quentyn Martell; it was Cletus who gave his cousin Ser Archibald Yronwood the nickname the Big Man. He joined Quentyn's secret mission to Essos to seek the hand of Daenerys Targaryen, the party traveling in the guise of merchants aboard the Meadowlark. Near the Disputed Lands corsairs attacked the ship, and though the Dornishmen won the fight, Cletus and Ser Willam Wells were slain. The sailors gave them an honorable funeral, and Ser Gerris Drinkwater was forced to lie over their deeds to keep the journey's true purpose hidden. As he lay dying Cletus bid Quentyn, "Give your bride a kiss for me." His death is told in A Dance with Dragons.
