Braxton Beesbury (Stinger)

Braxton Beesbury, called Stinger, was a knight of House Beesbury and heir to Honeyholt during the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. Reckoned the finest young lance of the Reach, he was rumored to have fathered two bastards before he turned nineteen, one in the Reach and one in King's Landing. He became a close companion of Princess Saera Targaryen, along with Alys Turnberry, Perianne Moore, Jonah Mooton, and Red Roy Connington. In 84 AC the scandal of Saera's affairs broke, and as the favorite judged most guilty Braxton was condemned by Jaehaerys to mutilation and gelding. Permitted as a knight to demand trial by combat, he expected to face a member of the Kingsguard, but the king fought him himself. Armed with Blackfyre, the forty-nine-year-old Jaehaerys wore down the nineteen-year-old Stinger and stabbed him through the visor after he fell, as recounted in Fire & Blood.
