Arwyn Oakheart, a tiny and delicate woman, is the head of House Oakheart and the Lady of Old Oak. A widow, she outlived her husband, who gave her several sons. During the War of the Five Kings she followed her liege lord Mace Tyrell in supporting Renly Baratheon, raising the Three Leaves in his cause and riding with his host along the roseroad toward the capital, where she attended the melee at Bitterbridge. At one of Renly's councils she dismissed any notion of mercy from the Lannisters, remarking that the Lannisters were "drier than the sea." After Renly's death at Storm's End she refused Stannis Baratheon and followed the Tyrells in supporting Joffrey at the Battle of the Blackwater, for which the small council at King's Landing granted her land. Her youngest son, Ser Arys, served meanwhile in the Kingsguard at King's Landing.
