Hearteater was the favoured longsword of King Joffrey Baratheon, a blade of ordinary castle-forged steel for all the gilding and gems lavished upon its hilt and scabbard. Joffrey wore it for show far more than for war, and named it himself in the grandiose fashion he favoured.
When Lord Tywin Lannister gifted him a Valyrian-steel blade of his own at his wedding feast, Joffrey set Hearteater aside for the finer sword, Widow's Wail.
