Widow's Wail is the second of the two Valyrian-steel longswords reforged from the Stark greatsword Ice, twin to Oathkeeper and rippled with the same red-and-black water. Lord Tywin Lannister gave it as a wedding gift to his grandson, King Joffrey Baratheon, who drew it before his court and named it himself, declaring that every time he used it would be like cutting off Lord Eddard's head all over again.
Joffrey carried the blade only briefly. At his own wedding feast he hacked apart a gift-book with it for sport, and was dead of poison before the night was out. The sword passed to his younger brother, King Tommen, and remains among the arms of the Baratheons of King's Landing.
Status: extant, held by House Baratheon of King's Landing.
