Willam Dustin

Willam Dustin was Lord of Barrowton and head of House Dustin during Robert's Rebellion. Less than half a year after wedding Barbrey Ryswell, who gave him a fine red stallion bred from the herds of her father Lord Rodrik Ryswell of the Rills, he rode south after his liege Lord Eddard Stark, vowing to return to her mounted on the steed. He had earlier attended Eddard's wedding to Catelyn Tully at Riverrun, where he made bawdy remarks during the bedding. In 283 AC Willam was one of six companions who rode with Eddard to the tower of joy in the Red Mountains of Dorne in search of Lyanna Stark; there he was slain by the three Kingsguard who held the tower, and only Eddard and Howland Reed survived. His bones were laid in a cairn beneath the red mountains and never returned north, a slight his widow never forgave, though Eddard did return his red stallion. Eddard remembers him riding the great red stallion in his fever-dreams in A Game of Thrones.
