Vayon Poole

Vayon Poole served as the steward of Winterfell under Lord Eddard Stark, a man whose talk at table ran to money, stores, and servants. He fathered one daughter, Jeyne, a companion to Sansa Stark. When King Robert I named Eddard Hand of the King, Vayon accompanied his liege south to establish his household in King's Landing, leaving the stewardship of Winterfell unfilled until Robb Stark took the matter in hand at Maester Luwin's urging. It was Vayon who informed Eddard that Arya Stark had been recovered by Jory Cassel after the incident with the direwolf Nymeria, and who, on Eddard's behalf, booked passage for Sansa and Arya aboard the Braavosi ship Wind Witch. He was slain in the Red Keep in 298 AC during the massacre of Lord Eddard's household following his arrest for treason.
