Torgon Greyiron (Torgon the Latecomer)

Torgon Greyiron, called Torgon the Latecomer, was the eldest son of King Urragon III Greyiron and a High King of the Iron Islands during the Age of Heroes. When his father died, Torgon was away raiding the Mander from his stronghold on Greyshield, and his brothers sent him no word of the kingsmoot, hoping one among them would be chosen. The ironborn instead crowned Urrathon IV Goodbrother, who had all of Torgon's brothers killed. On his return Torgon denounced the kingsmoot as unlawful and revolted, aided by priests, lords, and Urrathon's own captains. Though never chosen at a kingsmoot, he ruled fairly for forty years, during which the Cape of Eagles was lost to House Mallister. He was succeeded by his son Urragon IV, who also took the kingship without a kingsmoot.
