Ser Symon Hollard was the former master-at-arms at the Dun Fort in Duskendale and the twin of Ser Steffon Hollard, with Ser Jon Hollard for a brother. During the Defiance of Duskendale, when Lord Denys Darklyn seized and imprisoned King Aerys II Targaryen, Symon slew Ser Gwayne Gaunt of the Kingsguard in the taking of the king. He was himself cut down in 277 AC by Ser Barristan Selmy, who stole into the Dun Fort, avenged his sworn brother, and bore the king to safety.
