Shella Whent was the Lady of Harrenhal and the last of her line, a Whent by birth whose father and grandfather had each held the great castle before her. She wed Lord Walter Whent—the wiki notes only that they were both Whents by birth and gives no further relation between them—and was mother to the 'fair maid' who reigned as queen of love and beauty at the tourney at Harrenhal in 281 AC. By the events of A Game of Thrones she dwelt alone with her ghosts in the cavernous vaults of Harrenhal, her household using only the lower thirds of two of its five towers and letting the rest go to ruin; she was reckoned a friend of the Night's Watch. Lacking the men to defend the massive seat against Lord Tywin Lannister, she yielded it and fled during the War of the Five Kings, and King Joffrey I Baratheon granted Harrenhal away to Janos Slynt. Petyr Baelish later cited her reported death—its manner and place unknown—as a warning of the fate of all who claim Harrenhal. The wiki dates her death to 299 or 300 AC.
