Jonothor Darry (Jon Darry)

A knight of House Darry and, by semi-canon account, brother to Ser Willem Darry, Jonothor served in the Kingsguard of King Aerys II Targaryen and was remembered by Ser Jaime Lannister as an earnest man. He attended the tourney at Harrenhal in 281 AC, and after the Battle of the Bells in 283 AC he was sent with Ser Barristan Selmy to rally the broken remnants of Lord Jon Connington's host. On the night the king burned his Hand Lord Qarlton Chelsted, Jonothor stood watch with Jaime outside the royal apartments while Aerys forced himself upon Queen Rhaella; when Jaime urged that they protect her too, Jon allowed they should—but not from the king. He rode out as one of the three Kingsguard who accompanied Prince Rhaegar to lead the royal army at the Battle of the Trident, rebuking the young Jaime that a sworn brother's duty was to obey, and was cut down in the midst of that battle.
