Gwayne V Gardener

Gwayne V Gardener was the last of the Three Sage Kings, son and successor to Merle I and grandson to Garth IX. He was the first Gardener king born into the Faith of the Seven and the first to be made a knight. Like his father he wed an Andal maiden to bind her father to the Gardener realm, and he took Ser Alester Tyrell, the founder of House Tyrell, as his champion and sworn shield. Under his rule and those of his father and grandfather the Andals were absorbed into the Reach with little bloodshed, so that in time it became impossible to tell First Men and Andal apart.
