Prince Gawen Gardener was the second son of King Mern IX Gardener of the Reach. When his father made common cause with Loren I Lannister of the Rock against Aegon the Conqueror, Gawen rode beside the king bearing the Gardener banner. He burned upon the Field of Fire in 2 BC alongside his father, his brothers, and his father's grandsons when Aegon and his sisters Visenya and Rhaenys unleashed their dragons.
