Ser Amos Bracken was a knight of House Bracken, son of Lord Humfrey Bracken of Stone Hedge and half-brother to the baseborn Ser Raylon Rivers. In 112 AC, when Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen visited the Trident, he bested Samwell Blackwood in a duel as the two rivals contended in vain for her hand. When the Dance of the Dragons divided the realm, the Brackens declared for King Aegon II and the greens against the Blackwood blacks. At the Battle of the Burning Mill, Amos cut down Lord Samwell Blackwood in single combat, only to be slain a moment later by a weirwood arrow said to have been loosed by Samwell's sister, Black Aly. His bastard brother Raylon Rivers led the broken Bracken host back toward Stone Hedge, which Prince Daemon Targaryen had stormed in the meantime.
