The third and youngest son of Ser Eustace Osgrey, who served as page and then squire at Coldmoat under Lord Wyman Webber. There an innocent romance grew between him and Wyman's daughter Rohanne, the two being of an age, and his father proposed a marriage that Lord Wyman courteously refused. A twelve-year-old squire at the Battle of the Redgrass Field in 196 AC, Addam was cut down by a knight of House Smallwood while trying to defend his wounded brother Ser Harrold. He was buried at Standfast, and for more than fifteen years afterward Rohanne held his death against Ser Eustace. His story is told in The Sworn Sword.
