House Teague was a noble house of the riverlands, founded generations before Aegon's Conquest by Torrence Teague, an adventurer of uncertain birth who raided the westerlands for gold, hired Essosi sellswords, and after six years of war was crowned King of the Rivers and the Hills at Maidenpool. Their arms bore a golden trident upright on black between two golden flanches. The river lords never warmed to the upstart dynasty, and Teague kings were forced to keep hostages from the great riverlands houses at their court to ensure obedience; the fourth king, Theo, earned the name Saddle-sore for his years spent campaigning against rebels.
The line ended with King Humfrey I Teague, who provoked the Faith Militant into aiding his persecution of the old gods and drove Houses Blackwood, Vance, and Tully into open rebellion. Lord Roderick Blackwood called on his kinsman by marriage, the Storm King Arlan III Durrandon, and at the Battle of Six Kings Humfrey, his three sons, and his brother Damon were all slain. Roderick died in the same battle, and Arlan Durrandon claimed the riverlands for the Storm Kings, ending House Teague's line for good.
