Urron Greyiron, called Urron Redhand and Urron of Orkmont, was the salt king of Orkmont and the great-nephew of King Urragon IV Greyiron, who named him his successor. Some five thousand years before the War of the Five Kings, when the priests called a kingsmoot at Old Wyk to choose the next king, Urron descended on Nagga's Hill with his axemen and slew the assembled captains, the thirteen salt and rock kings, and half a hundred priests and prophets, ending the kingsmoot. Calling himself simply King of the Iron Islands, he forged a crown of black iron in place of the driftwood crown and made the high kingship hereditary, to be taken by another house only by force. His descendants ruled the Iron Islands for a thousand years, until the coming of the Andals. Of him it is recorded: "The Drowned God makes men, but it's men who make crowns."
